I only use mouth blown glass in my work. LambertsGlas in Germany is the best in my opinion. They produce an amazing range of colours.

Here's a short film to show you how its made.

Residency on the Isle of Eigg

In September 2016 I undertook an Inches Carr Trust artist residency at Sweeney's Bothy on the Isle of Eigg.

Having visited on a family holiday the year before i was keen to return, alone, to further explore and research the islands landscape.

This uninterrupted week allowed me time to quietly observe the changing light of the sky and clouds and its reflective effect on the surface of water. I focused on the rock pools on the Singing Sands, geological textures, plant forms, and the geometric patterns created by tidal movement on the naturally monochrome sand on Laig Bay beach.

No internet, just me, my materials and my thoughts, bliss.

Exhibition: The Lightness of Being

I will be showing my new work inspired by the Isle of Eigg, with paper artist Alison Simpson, at the Birch Tree Gallery, 23a Dundas Street, Edinburgh, Scotland.

Opening on Thursday 6th July - 1st August 2017.

All welcome.
